“My Catholic faith and my involvement in scouting are both integral parts of my life. Through my faith, I have learned to live a life of service and devotion to others, while scouting has provided me with opportunities to develop leadership skills, build character, and make a positive impact in my community.
In my scouting activities, I strive to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and respectful. These values are not just words to me; they are a way of life that is grounded in my faith. I believe that through my actions and attitudes, I can demonstrate the love of Christ to my fellow scouts, my friends, and my teachers. As a scout, I am also encouraged to be of service to others, to be a good citizen, and to respect the beliefs of others. These values are in line with my Catholic faith, which teaches us to love our neighbour and to treat others with kindness and compassion.
As a patrol leader, I strive to lead by example, demonstrating the values of service, compassion, and community to my fellow scouts. I believe that by embodying these values, I can inspire others to do the same and create a positive impact in our community.
Further, attending Mass and catechism classes every Sunday has allowed me to deepen my understanding of the teachings of the Church, and has given me a solid foundation for my faith. I also make it a point to incorporate daily prayer and Bible reading into my life, which has helped me stay centred and focused on my faith.
When faced with challenges in my scouting activities or in other areas of my life, I turn to prayer and ask God for guidance and strength. Through prayer, I can find the courage and wisdom to overcome obstacles and stay true to my values.
Overall, my Catholic faith and my involvement in scouting are closely intertwined, and they both play a significant role in shaping who I am as a person. By incorporating the teachings of the Church into my scouting activities, I hope to inspire others to live a life of service and compassion, and to honour God through their actions.”
